There is no need to remind anyone about the buzz surrounding one of the most-awaited sequels of the year, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, simply referred to as Dhurandhar 2. The Ranveer Singh-starrer spy action saga is riding high on expectations, and the advance sales have been sensational. More than 4 lakh tickets have reportedly been sold for paid premiere shows and day 1 so far.

However, the theatrical situation in the Telugu states appears to be a bit different. It is being heard in trade circles that the makers of Dhurandhar 2 are demanding at least two shows per day for a week across centres. Under normal circumstances, this may not have been a problem. But with Pawan Kalyan’s Ustaad Bhagat Singh also releasing on the same day, the issue has become more complicated.

Most single-screen exhibitors in Telugu states are said to be more inclined towards Ustaad Bhagat Singh, keeping local market factors in mind. Because of this, Dhurandhar 2 may end up getting fewer single screens in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana if the conditions are not met.

This could slightly limit the reach of the Hindi film in a few regions of AP and TS. Even though the overall impact may not be very high given the film’s massive buzz and strong advance bookings, it would still be a miss for such a highly anticipated release.

Meanwhile, the advance booking rampage continues to create a sensation on ticketing platforms, and Dhurandhar 2 is still heading towards record-breaking collections and a huge opening day at the Indian box office.
