Senapathi marks the OTT debut of legendary actor, ‘Nata Kireeti’ Rajendra Prasad. The web movie gained humongous attention with a well-cut teaser and trailer. The movie has been released today on Aha. Let’s check out our review to know how it is.

Story:

Krishna (Naresh Agastya) is an honest police officer whose aim is to become an IPS officer. One fine day, he gets appointed to nab a notorious criminal. Unfortunately, he loses his gun when he is chasing the gangster. His superiors suspend Krishna and order him to find his gun. Did Krishna find his lost gun? How a middle-aged person, Krishna Murthy (Rajendra Prasad) gets linked to this issue? To know the details, you need to watch the movie.

Plus Points:

Director Pavan Sadineni has designed every character quite well. He succeeds in making the audience glued to the screen with his solid narration which raises curiosity. Rajendra Prasad lived in his unique character and made us feel his emotions. Be it is look or body language, the director showcased him in a new manner. Young actor Naresh Agastya gave his best output as a serious and sincere policeman.

Harshavardhan, who is a well-known writer and director, acted with ease and made audiences laugh even in serious scenes. Actor Rakendu Moul, who also wrote the film’s dialogues, appeared in a new avatar and also delivered a good performance.

Gnaneswari Kandregula, Satya Prakash, Josh Ravi and others gave their best to make the film a fascinating one. The whole set up, look and field of the film has been designed superbly by director Pawan Sadineni.

Minus Points:

The director made the film run with a racy screenplay in the first half. But, the film has become a bit slow while it nears the climax.

The slow-paced narration in the secon half will make you feel, “Can we skip to the good part?” Having a few dark comedy scenes might have helped the movie.

Technical Aspects:

Talking about the technical team, Shravan Bharadwaj’s music is outstanding and became an asset to the movie. Vivek Kalepu made us look at the rich visuals through his lens superbly. Besides acting, Rakendu Mouli also penned wonderful dialogues. Editing by Gowtham Nerusu is impressive and made the movie more intriguing. Production values are super rich and you can see the richness on screen.

Coming to the director Pavan Sadineni, he needs a special appreciation as he proved that he is also capable of handling thrillers apart from love stories quite well. In spite of having all young and new actors, he narrated the film in a gripping manner. The way he held the film with racy moments made the proceedings quite interesting.

Verdict:

On the whole, Senapathi is a gripping crime thriller with a few edge of the seat moments. Rajendra Prasad and Naresh Agastya impress you with their stellar performances. If you ignore the slow second half, Senapathi is a well made and good OTT outing to end the year with a high.
