V.N. Aditya, known for his films like Manasantha Nuvve, Nenunnanu, and Aata, has now come up with a movie titled Valliddari Madhya. It stars Viraj Ashwin and Neha Krishna in the lead roles and has been released directly on Aha. So let’s see how it is.

Story:

Varun (Viraj Ashwin), an engineering graduate, starts a business that looks after the well-being of parents who stay away from their children. In this process, Anvaya’s (Neha Krishna) parents become Varun’s clients. Varun falls in love with Anvaya the moment he sees her. Anvaya, too, loves him, but the problem starts when the alter egos of Varun and Anvaya affect their relationship. The rest of the film is about how the lead pair tackled their egos.

Plus Points:

The film’s basic idea that egos shouldn’t play a spoilsport in one’s relationship is nice. Viraj Ashwin, as a conservative and generic person, played his role in a good manner. He looked smart and elegant and also showed his dancing skills in the film. Bindu Chadramouli, who played the hero’s mother, was fine in her role. A scene where she explains the importance of having longevity in a relationship is nicely showcased.

Neha Krishna made her debut with Valliddari Madhya, and she did a good job in her first film. She performed with ease and did well in the emotional scenes as well. Neha Krishna also looked good on screen. Srikanth Iyengar, as the psychologist, gave a nice performance, and his scenes were watchable.

Minus Points:

The biggest drawback of the film is its screenplay which is inconsistent throughout. It isn’t engaging, either. Right from the start, the proceedings looked dull and boring without creating any sense of excitement. The protagonist’s idea of starting services for parents staying away from their children isn’t novel, and the execution is bad too. The company, within no time, becomes a big success with crores of turnover, which sounded silly.

The basic conflict point between the lead pair isn’t established well, and scenes that come in this regard are handled poorly. The drama was majorly missing, and the lack of emotional depth made the proceedings fall flat and uninteresting. The alter ego concept looked good on paper, but the same was not translated to the screen.

The comedy looked odd and old-fashioned, failing to bring in the much-needed relief. At a length of 135 minutes, the film seems very long due to the stretched screenplay and prolonged sequences. The climax, too, was routine, with expected twists coming up, and the actual message got diluted.

Technical Aspects:

The music by Madhu Sravanthi is fine, and a couple of songs were good to listen to. The cinematography by R.R. Kolanchi is nice. The editing, however, is not up to the mark, and the team should have trimmed the film at least by 10 to 15 minutes. The production values are adequate.

Coming to the director, V.N. Aditya, he did a below-par with the film. He also gave the story, but the writing should have been more effective in conveying his point strongly. An engaging screenplay with proper and solid emotions would have created a lot more difference.

Verdict:

On the whole, Valliddari Madhya is a film that had potential. But it ends as a dull and unexciting film. Though It has a good message, the lack of engaging narration and lengthy runtime doesn’t sit well with the audience and ends as a disappointing watch this weekend.
