Gautamiputra Satakarni :
Nandamuri Balakrishna's landmark 100th film, Gautamiputra Satakarni, released on the 12th of January to unanimous positive response from fans and critics alike. The film took box-offices worldwide by storm and is heading to become the highest grossing movie in Balayya's career.
No 4th position at the box office. .
No other actor but Balayya could have played Satakarni's role with such aplomb. The veteran star is a revelation in the role of the ancient Telugu warrior emperor. Shriya gives her career best performance as Vasishti Devi. Hema Malini adds grace to her role of Gautami Balasri. Some of the battle sequences are picturized quite well.
The film's story appears to have been rushed in some parts and a proper background information would have helped the proceedings. The emotional quotient is quite less in the story except for the Satakarni-Vasishti track. The makers should have cast popular faces as the supporting cast.
