The nation is eagerly waiting for the release of the highly anticipated Bollywood biggie Dhurandhar: The Revenge. After creating a box office rampage with Dhurandhar, this sequel, headlined by Ranveer Singh and directed by Aditya Dhar, is expected to smash whatever records remain.

Ahead of the film’s release, the first review is out, and it comes from none other than the talented yet controversial filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma (RGV). The Satya maker took to his X account to share his thoughts after watching Dhurandhar 2 last night.

He made a bold remark, stating that Dhurandhar 2 is highly impactful and even bigger than the Bollywood classic Sholay in terms of its sheer cumulative impact in every way – be it expected collections, audience euphoria, social influence, cinematic grammar-breaking, or its psychological audio-visual experience. He went on to call it “SHOLAY x 100 level magnificence.”

“This is the BIRTH of a NEW CINEMATIC ORDER and the ruthless extinction of everything that ever existed before in the previous world of cinema,” wrote the director, heaping massive praise on the film.

He also lauded the filmmaker, saying, “The spelling of the word DIRECTOR will start from Aditya Dhar.” Not stopping there, he added that world-renowned directors like Steven Spielberg and Christopher Nolan should watch the film on a first-day-first-show basis.

This comes across as pure hype from the maverick director for a film that is already riding high on anticipation, even among Bollywood outsiders. His review is now acting as a major boost, making audiences even more curious to see how the film will impress them.
