War 2 & Coolie Day 3 Worldwide Collections – See Which Film Leads the Box Office

This Independence Day weekend witnessed a massive cinematic showdown between two biggies – War 2 and Coolie. Both were released on August 14, 2025, amidst high expectations, and audiences were excited to catch both movies in cinemas.

Unexpectedly, both the movies received mixed reactions, with neither standing tall or clearly superior at the box office. However, audiences made their choices.

By the end of three days, the Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR-starrer spy action saga War 2 made around Rs. 210 crore gross, which is somewhat disappointing. Meanwhile, Rajinikanth’s Coolie is slaying with Rs. 325 crore and more gross at the global box office.

In ticket sales, both at the Indian and global box office, Coolie outshines War 2, even though it also received mixed reviews. War 2 lags behind by around Rs. 100 crore, despite being a YRF banner release.

Trade analysts expect Sunday collections to improve over Saturday, while Monday will pose the biggest test for both films.

War 2 box office: 2-day worldwide & Hindi collections here

NTR and Hrithik Roshan’s spy action entertainer War 2 is now playing in theatres. The film, directed by Ayan Mukerji, mostly received mixed to negative reviews from critics. At the domestic box office, War 2’s Hindi version opened to around Rs. 28.5 crores nett. On Independence Day, the film saw a very good growth, raking in Rs. 44 crores nett, taking the two-day collections tally to Rs. 72.5 crores nett at the Bollywood box office.

At the worldwide box office, War 2 earned nearly Rs. 165 crores gross. Produced by Yash Raj Films, the biggie opened globally to Rs. 84 crores gross, and on its second day, the film collected in the same range as the opening day. While the Hindi version witnessed a good jump in business, the Telugu version witnessed drops, which is quite normal.

War 2 will need to post good numbers over the weekend and maintain strong holds on the weekdays to remain in the safe zone. Kiara Advani, Ashutosh Rana, and Anil Kapoor played other key roles. Stay tuned to 123telugu.com for more box office updates on War 2.

Book My Show peak hour: War 2 outperforms Coolie

Rajinikanth’s Coolie took a huge lead over War 2 on the opening day, both in collections and Book My Show ticket sales. However, War 2, headlined by NTR and Hrithik Roshan, is catching up in the box office competition by pulling things back. Coolie’s peak hour on Book My Show was 60.17K, and this was before the film’s release.

Now the Bollywood film outperformed Lokesh Kanagaraj’s directorial on its day two by selling over 62K tickets in an hour. On the other hand, Coolie’s ticket sales haven’t gone past 60K since its release. Generally, Hindi films aren’t front-loaded like South Indian films, and they show an increasing trend in collections with each passing day.

The same is happening at the moment. We need to see if War 2 can register another peak hour on the ticketing platform over the weekend. The spy action thriller, backed by Yash Raj Films, was directed by Ayan Mukerji of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani fame. War 2 marked NTR’s Bollywood debut.
