KantaraChapter1

KantaraChapter1

2025 saw massive blockbusters like Chhaava and Saiyaara. Both these Hindi films grossed over Rs. 500 crores. The animated film Mahavatar Narsimha is nearing the Rs. 300 crore mark. Sitaare Zameen Par, Sankranthiki Vasthunam, and Empuraan also emerged as massive hits, each crossing Rs. 250 crores gross. However, the Rs. 1000 crore benchmark is yet to be breached this calendar year.

Coolie and War 2 had the opportunity to achieve the four-digit milestone, but both biggies fell short of expectations and are heading toward loss ventures. Since Prabhas’ The Raja Saab is targeting Sankranthi 2026, only one film stands a chance of earning Rs. 1000 crores this year. The movie in question is Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: Chapter 1, the prequel to the blockbuster Kantara.

The mythological action drama, also starring Rukmini Vasanth and Gulshan Devaiah, is slated for a grand release on October 2. Pawan Kalyan’s much-anticipated OG is also releasing this year, but Kantara: Chapter 1 has the edge due to its massive demand across all major languages. For those unaware, Kantara collected over Rs. 80 crores nett in Hindi.

Well-made sequels have always lit up the Hindi box office, as we’ve seen with Pushpa 2: The Rule, Stree 2, and KGF 2. Technically, Kantara: Chapter 1 may be a prequel, but it has all the qualities to emerge as an Rs. 1000 crore grosser. Can Rishab Shetty’s directorial live up to expectations, or will 2025 end without a Rs. 1000 crore film? Let’s wait and see.

PAN India star Prabhas is currently juggling multiple films, with Fauji being one among them. Set during the pre-Independence era, the film reportedly weaves a love story against the backdrop of war. The big-ticket entertainer is being directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, who helmed the cult classic Sita Ramam.

A leaked picture of Prabhas from the sets is now making waves online. In the image, Prabhas is seen enjoying coffee with an elderly woman. The star looks dapper with a near-clean-shaven look, wearing a t-shirt, and exuding charm even with a simple hairdo. Expectations among fans are now soaring as they believe a classic love tale is coming their way.

Prabhas looked pretty good in his recent films, Salaar and Kalki 2898 AD. Now we will have to see if Hanu Raghavapudi can bring out the best in him with Fauji. Instagram sensation Imanvi makes her silver screen debut with Fauji.

Veteran Bollywood actors Mithun Chakraborty and Anupam Kher, along with senior Tollywood actress Jayapradha, play pivotal roles. Backed by Mythri Movie Makers, the film features music by Vishal Chandrasekhar.

Tollywood’s renowned production house Mythri Movie Makers has made its entry into movies a decade ago with Superstar Mahesh Babu’s Srimanthudu (2015). The film tasted success at the box office and gave the makers confidence to produce more movies.

Over ten years, they made great films like Janatha Garage, Rangasthalam, Dear Comrade, Mathu Vadalara, Uppena, Pushpa: The Rise, Sarkaru Vaari Paata, Ante Sundaraniki, Veera Simha Reddy, Waltair Veerayya, Mathu Vadalara 2, Pushpa 2: The Rule, Good Bad Ugly, Jaat, and 8 Vasantalu. Each movie tried new styles and they even made films in other languages. Ten years have passed, and they still work fast to entertain and enthral audiences with their movies.

In the next five years, they aim to produce over 45 films in many languages, with big stars and directors. Some new movies to wait for are Ustaad Bhagat Singh, a film with Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel called Dragon, a Prabhas movie with Hanu Raghavapudi (Fauji), and others like Peddi, Andhra King Taluka, Jai Hanuman, Dude, VD14, and RC17 with Sukumar.

They are undoubtedly a production house to watch out for. Their dominance is set to define Indian cinema in the years to come. Wishing Mythri Movie Makers and their passionate team the very best for the future.
