Salaar Turns Two: Prabhas Fans Await Sequel Update

It’s been two years since Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire hit theatres and went on to become the biggest film of Prabhas’ career. Directed by Prashanth Neel, the film still enjoys solid recall, with fans and even celebrities continuing to talk about it long after its release.

With the film completing two years today, curiosity around Salaar 2 has picked up again. Fans have been waiting for some clarity on the sequel, but the makers have maintained complete silence so far.

The delay isn’t surprising. Prabhas is currently busy with multiple projects, while Prashanth Neel is occupied with Jr NTR’s film. Because of that, the sequel is unlikely to move forward anytime soon.

Backed by Hombale Films, Salaar 2 already carries huge expectations. For now, fans may have to wait a bit longer, hoping the makers at least acknowledge the sequel on the film’s second anniversary.

Not Just Three! Prabhas and KGF Makers Set for More Big Films

Hombale Films has firmly established itself as one of India’s leading production houses, consistently delivering blockbuster hits and building an exciting lineup of upcoming projects, including Salaar: Part 2 Shouryanga Parvam, Kantara: Chapter 1, and KGF: Chapter 3.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Telugu superstar Prabhas shared insights about his ongoing collaboration with Hombale Films. Describing the relationship as “like a family,” Prabhas confirmed, “We are planning for more films together,” hinting at new ventures beyond their current agreements.

This announcement comes two days after Prabhas and renowned Kannada director Prashanth Neel were spotted watching Brad Pitt’s F1 movie at Prasads Multiplex (PCX) in Hyderabad.

Besides the previously announced three-film deal made in November 2024, Prabhas is expected to star in additional projects under the Hombale banner. While the directors for these upcoming films remain unconfirmed, fans are eagerly awaiting further details.

Currently, Prabhas is focused on completing his commitments with The Raja Saab, Fauji, and Spirit. Meanwhile, Salaar 2, the first film in his multi-project deal with Hombale Films, is in the pre-production stage. The shooting schedule for this sequel is expected to begin once these projects wrap up.

Director Prashanth Neel is also busy working on Dragon (tentative title), featuring War 2 star Jr NTR. Fans of Telugu cinema are closely watching these developments as Hombale Films continues to dominate the South Indian film industry.

Photo Moment: NTRNeel begins; Makers share a cool pic of Neel in action

Today marks a big day for all the fans of Tollywood star NTR and Sandalwood director Prashanth Neel. After several months of meticulous preparation, the duo’s ambitious pan-India action drama, tentatively titled NTRNeel, finally went on floors today at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad.

NTRNeel makers Mythri Movie Makers’ official X handle shared a cool picture of Prashanth Neel in action on the movie’s set. The BTS showcases Prashanth calling the shots, while thousands of extras take part in a riot-like scene in the background. “The soil finally welcomes its reign to leave a mark in the history books of Indian Cinema. NTRNeel shoot has officially begun. A whole new wave of action & euphoria is ready to grip the masses,” read Mythri’s X post.

Apparently, more than 3,000 extras are taking part in the first schedule. On the other hand, NTR is expected to join the shoot in March. The film is jointly produced by Nandamuri Kalyan Ram under his NTR Arts banner. Ravi Basrur is the film’s music composer, while Rukmini Vasanth is likely to be cast opposite NTR.
