Navdeep and Swathi have teamed up for the crime drama ‘Bangaru Kodipetta’. They movie has been directed by Raj Pippala and Sunitha Thati is the producer. The film has released today in Andhra Pradesh, so let us see how it is.

Story:

Bhanumathi (Swathi) works in the sales department of an energy drinks company. She is in need of money and her lecherous boss (Harshavardhan) tries to take advantage of her position.

Fed up with everything, Bhanumathi conspires with Vamsi (Navdeep), who works as a sound technician cum electrician in the mall, and plans the robbery of a truck containing some gold coins belonging to her company.

As their plan unfolds, their fate becomes unexpectedly connected to the lives of a pizza delivery boy as well as a rich landlord from Bhimavaram.

Can Bhanumathi and Vamsi pull off the heist? That is the story of ‘Bangaru Kodipetta’

Plus Points :

Navdeep’s performance in the film is very good and he has done complete justice to this role. He also looks quite handsome.

Swathi has done a good job as the naive Bhanumathi. Harshavardhan has turned in a lively performance as the lecherous boss and his performance in the end, when he discovers that he has been cheated, is superb.

The movie is very good during the last 20 minutes and all the various elements of the plot have been tied up nicely

Minus Points :

Swathi looks very tired and jaded in the film. If getting that look was the director’s intention, he went overboard.

The first half of the film is very slow and boring. The film picks up a little pace towards the interval, but it nosedives again after that.

The pizza delivery boy’s characterisation is not very good and some of his scenes are needlessly long.

Fight masters Ram and Lakshman have acted in this film as brothers and they have only one expression on their faces for all emotions.

Some light hearted entertainment in the first half would have worked wonders for this movie.

Technical Aspects :

Cinematography is good and the visuals have a reasonably vibrant feel. Background music is very average. The editor should have been more strict in the first half.

The film has a good story, but director Raj Pippala messed up the execution. He has done a good job with the climax though.

Verdict :

A good final 20 minutes cannot overcome a boring and very slow first half. Bangaru Kodipetta has its moments, but as a whole, this crime drama fails to make a convincing impression. At the Box Office, whatever limited run it might have will be limited to A centers.
