Legendary filmmaker Mani Ratnam is leaving no stone unturned to make sure his ambitious period drama, Ponniyin Selvan, turns out to be an epic. Mani will reportedly adapt this Kalki novel into 2 parts. Several prominent stars from Bollywood and South have been signed on to play crucial roles in the movie.
Now, according to the latest updates, Mani Ratnam is planning a huge 100-day marathon schedule in the dense forests of Thailand. The shooting will kick-start either in December or January. Mani usually shoots his movies within India, and this extensive overseas schedule for Ponniyin Selvan is almost a first in his 3 decades old career.
Bollywood stars Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Tamil stars Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, veteran Telugu hero Mohan Babu, Malayalam star Jayaram, Keerthy Suresh and several others will be seen in key roles in the movie. AR Rahman is the music composer.
