Mollywood heart-throb Dulquer Salmaan’s maiden production venture, Varane Avashyamund, recently had its digital premiere on Netflix. This landed the talented hero in a minor trouble, as he was ‘mildly blasted’ by a Mumbai-based female journalist, who accused him of body-shaming her in his film.
Going into the details, a young journalist named Chetna Kapoor took to Twitter and accused Dulquer of using her pictures without her consent. The photographs in question were used in a scene which depicts ‘before-after weight-loss treatment’. Chetna demanded Dulquer to apologize for body-shaming her and also vowed to take a legal action.
Always known to be a sensible man, Dulquer promptly responded to Chetna’s tweet and apologized to her publicly. He also assured that he would enquire how her pictures were used in the movie. Meanwhile, Chetna, acknowledging Dulquer’s apology, said that she has dropped the idea of taking the legal route after the film’s director Anoop Sathyan personally called her and apologized.
We take full responsibility for the error on our behalf. Will look into it with concerned departments of the film to understand how the images were sourced. I apologise from my end and from the film as well as @DQsWayfarerFilm for any difficulties caused. It wasnt intentional.
