A couple of days back, an interview promo came out in which Sreenu Vaitla spoke about his ever-green film Venky. This was when he revealed that Asin was the first choice for the Ravi Teja starrer. The interview is out now, and Sreenu Vaitla stated Asin missed the film due to scheduling issues (dates issue).
Sreenu Vaitla said, “Initially, we approached Asin, but she couldn’t do the project because of scheduling issues. We later approached Sneha. We wanted someone who looked soft, just like Bhoomika Garu in Okkadu. We felt Sneha was the right fit for Sravani’s role. Previously, she acted in a film called Priyamaina Neeku. Sravani’s role is soft, but when it comes to songs, we took liberty and made them in a way that appeals to the masses.”
Venky marks the first collaboration of Sreenu Vaitla with writers Gopi Mohan and Kona Venkat. Ashutosh Rana played the baddie, while Atluri Purnachandra Rao produced this flick. Rockstar Devi Sri Prasad composed the tunes. Sreenivas Reddy, Chitram Sreenu, Brahmanandam, AVS, Ramachandra, and Dharmavarapu Subramanyam played important roles.
