Ranbir Kapoor will next be seen as Lord Ram in Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious mythological epic Ramayana. While promoting the film in the US, the actor shared an exciting update about the project.
Ranbir revealed that Ramayana: Part Two is already 50% complete. He also said work on the sequel has been progressing alongside the post-production of the first installment to ensure it remains on track for its planned Diwali 2027 release.
Speaking about the scale of the epic, Ranbir said Ramayana had enough material to be adapted into a 10-part franchise. However, he added that Nitesh Tiwari and the team carefully selected the portions to include while staying faithful to the original epic.
The film also features Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman. It is produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in association with Yash’s Monster Mind Creations.
The first installment is slated to release during Diwali 2026. Its recently released trailer generated strong buzz, and the film’s grand visuals, designed for the IMAX format, have further raised expectations among moviegoers.
