Powerstar Pawan Kalyan’s latest film, Ustaad Bhagat Singh, hit the big screens yesterday. Directed by Harish Shankar, the movie opened to below-par reviews from critics, with the action drama facing flak for its outdated story and clichéd narrative.
According to trade reports, the film earned around Rs. 50 crore gross at the worldwide box office. The Pawan Kalyan starrer was considerably impacted by Dhurandhar 2’s wave in the Nizam and overseas markets, resulting in a limited box office impact. However, the numbers in Andhra Pradesh are said to be fair.
It remains to be seen how the film performs over the weekend while braving Dhurandhar: The Revenge’s storm. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, Ustaad Bhagat Singh features Sreeleela and Raashii Khanna as the female leads. Thaman composed the background score, while Devi Sri Prasad provided the songs.
