Dhurandhar 2 continues its phenomenal run at the global box office, crossing the marvellous Rs. 1000 crore mark and showing no signs of slowing down. Directed by Aditya Dhar and led by Ranveer Singh, the film has quickly become one of the fastest-grossing releases in recent times.
Amid all the success, the film has also found itself at the center of an unexpected controversy. Addressing the issue, Aditya Dhar shared a note reacting to AI-generated visuals that have been circulating online. While thanking audiences for the overwhelming love, he firmly called out the spread of misinformation.
He said that “certain individuals are circulating manipulated visuals using artificial intelligence to create false and misleading narratives,” and clarified that the viral image showing a turbaned character (Ranveer Singh) smoking is “completely untrue” and not part of the film in any form.
He also made it clear that he has the “highest regard” for the Sikh community, adding that every portrayal in the film has been handled with “utmost sensitivity, dignity, and responsibility.” Urging people not to fall for such content, he asked audiences to “rely only on official content” and warned that “such acts will be dealt with firmly.”
This comes at a time when AI-generated content is increasingly creating confusion online. Recently, actor Madhavan faced a similar situation, which he addressed calmly while maintaining respect toward the community. At the same time, the rise of AI-edited alternate or “happy ending” versions of films has also led some viewers to mistake them for real scenes.
Apart from Ranveer Singh, Dhurandhar 2 also features Sara Arjun, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi, and others in key roles. The film is backed by Jio Studios and B62 Studios.
