For a long time, the Mumbai circuit has been one of the biggest contributors to Hindi cinema. If a film does well here, it means it has found strong acceptance among the audience.
Ranveer Singh and Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge has now emerged as the first-ever Indian film to go past the ₹300 crore nett mark (Rs. 317 crores nett till now) in this territory, underlining its dominance at the ticket windows. The previous record held by Chhaava (Rs. 265 crores nett) was broken by a massive margin of over ₹50 crores.
It will be a herculean task for upcoming films to surpass Dhurandhar 2’s numbers in the Mumbai circuit. The movie is still registering good collections, and we need to see what kind of target it will set for other biggies.
