Speaking at the Producers Guild press meet, star producer Naga Vamsi made some interesting comments regarding the ongoing rental vs percentage-sharing row. He opined that the issue could be resolved very easily by distributors and exhibitors and that there is no need to create unnecessary fuss.

Naga Vamsi stated, “Right now, the industry is bleeding without revenues. Creating disturbances right before Peddi’s release doesn’t sound good. After the Sankranthi season, audiences haven’t turned up to theatres in big numbers. This summer season wasn’t fruitful due to various reasons, including lack of strong content and IPL. We are hopeful that audiences will return to theatres with Peddi. It’s a big film carrying huge craze, and all the promotional assets have clicked.”

He added, “This is the time when the whole industry should literally pray for Peddi to become a blockbuster. If the film becomes a big hit, audiences will once again start coming to theatres, and it will be followed by good content for the rest of the year. For the next six months to be successful, Peddi should act as the takeoff point. Imposing conditions at this time doesn’t make sense.”
