Mandaadi, starring Soori and Suhas, is enjoying a strong run at the box office. The Tamil sports action drama, which opened to decent reports, has now picked up impressive momentum in ticket sales.
On Monday, the Vinayaka Chavithi holiday gave the film a major boost. Mandaadi sold more than 221K tickets on day 4, making it the highest-selling movie of the day and comfortably beating Sardar 2.
However, Hanuman Ansh continues to be the bigger surprise. On its 39th day, the Bollywood sleeper hit still managed to sell over 183K tickets in a single day. That is a phenomenal number for a film that has been in theatres for nearly six weeks, underlining its exceptional staying power.
The other films are also recording decent sales, but their numbers remain considerably lower than these two and are not as noteworthy.
Both Mandaadi and Hanuman Ansh have passed the Monday test with the festival advantage. The focus now shifts to their weekday hold and whether this momentum can continue through the rest of the week.
