Emraan Hashmi’s much-awaited sequel, Awarapan 2, was announced to hit cinemas on August 14 during the Independence Day weekend, clashing with Sunny Deol’s Batwara 1947. Though Awarapan was a box office failure, it gained cult status over time. The first installment starred Shriya Saran as the female lead.
For the last few days, there has been talk on social media that Awarapan 2 will be shifted to a later date. In a live interaction with fans, Emraan Hashmi officially said that the movie isn’t being postponed and that it will arrive as planned.
Emraan expressed disappointment that baseless speculations have been gaining traction online lately. Directed by Nitin Kakkar, Awarapan 2 features Disha Patani as the female lead. The trailer will be launched soon.
