Ram Charan’s new film, RC17, directed by Sukumar, has officially been launched. The pre-look poster has led to several rumours that the film will have mythological elements, with Ram Charan possibly appearing as Lord Krishna.
Amid these speculations, another rumour has spread quickly. Many reports claimed that the film could be a remake of the Gujarati blockbuster Laalo (2025). The news caught the attention of many, but there is no truth to these claims.
Sukumar announced RC17 in March 2024 and has been working on the script since then. He had reportedly completed a major portion of the script even before Laalo was released. So, the film has no connection to the remake rumours.
There were also reports that Ram Charan might act in the Telugu remake of Laalo. However, he is not part of the project, and another actor is likely to play the lead role. The rumours linking RC17 to Laalo are baseless.
The shooting is expected to begin soon, and the makers are yet to announce the heroine. Anirudh Ravichander is the music director, while Ratnavelu will handle the cinematography. Mythri Movie Makers is producing the film along with Sukumar Writings and T-Series Films.
