Several leading Tollywood stars made a splash at star director Sukumar’s daughter Sukriti Veni’s half-saree function that was held in Hyderabad last night. Stars like Mahesh Babu, NTR, Naga Chaitanya and Samantha, who had worked with Sukumar in some of his popular movies, attended the event and blessed the young girl, apart from exchanging pleasantries with the director.

While Mahesh kept it simple and casual, with a blue t-shirt and jeans and his new hairdo that he’s been sporting for Sarkaru Vaari Paata, his wife Namrata complemented him in a bright red anarkali. NTR donned a classy look in a plain white shirt and black trousers. Coming to the Akkineni couple, Chay was dressed in a blue formal shirt and jeans, while Samantha looked like a diva in a golden coloured designer dress.

Here comes an exciting update for all the fans of top Kollywood star Vijay. The actor’s highly-anticipated 65th film, tentatively titled Thalapathy65, is being planned as a pan-India biggie. The film’s cinematographer Manoj Paramahamsa had made the big announcement, much to the joy of all Thalapathy fans.

We recently reported that the Nanban and Radhe Shyam cinematographer will be cranking the camera for the Vijay-starrer. In a tweet, Manoj expressed his excitement on teaming up with Vijay for the second time. “Excited to start yet another journey with this wonderful human being loved by the entrie state and very soon by the entire nation,” he tweeted.

Thalapathy65 will be directed by young Tamil filmmaker Nelson Dilip Kumar and producer under leading production house Sun Pictures. The film’s formal puja ceremony will be held very soon. Star heroines Pooja Hegde and Rashmika Mandanna are in race to grab the female lead’s part in this high budget action entertainer. Anirudh Ravichander will be composing the music.

On the occasion of Nani’s birthday, the makers of his next film, Shyam Singha Roy, unveiled the first look poster yesterday. Seen in a typical Bengali avatar, Nani’s look has caught moviegoers’ attention instantly.

Meanwhile, the latest grapevine is that Nani is going to surprise his fans by uttering a few dialogues in Bengali. Set in a Kolkata backdrop, the film is said to be a period love story.

Sai Pallavi, Krithi Shetty and Madonna Sebastian are the female leads in Shyam Singha Roy. Rahul Sankrityan is the director.
