Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur’s upcoming film Dacoit is a romantic crime thriller directed by Shaneil Deo. The film is set for a theatrical release on April 10, 2026.
With the release just days away, the makers have confirmed that PVR Pictures will handle the Hindi version across India, ensuring a wider screen presence.
The film also stars Prakash Raj and Anurag Kashyap in key roles, with music composed by Bheems Ceciroleo. Dacoit is produced by Supriya Yarlagadda, co produced by Suniel Narang, and presented by Annapurna Studios.
Malayalam star Tovino Thomas played the lead in the big-budget film Pallichattambi. The movie is produced by Noufael, Brijesh, Chanakya, Chaitanya, and Charan under the banners of Worldwide Films and C Cube Bros Entertainments. Directed by Dijo Jose Antony, the film features Kayadu Lohar as the female lead. The movie is set for a grand theatrical release on April 10th in major Indian languages. In a recent interview, Tovino Thomas and Kayadu Lohar shared highlights about the film.
Tovino Thomas said, “I had been waiting to work with Dijo for a long time. When he narrated the story of “Pallichattambi,” I found it very exciting and decided to take it up. According to the story, the hero needed to look physically strong and powerful enough to take on villains. So I gained weight for the role. Pallichattambi is a fictional story inspired by incidents from 1950s Kerala.”
He added, “It portrays the social conditions of that time without imposing any personal opinions. The central message is about humanity; no one is superior or inferior. It’s a beautiful, emotional film meant for family audiences. The film does not portray any religion negatively. While there are scenes set in a church, the story would remain the same even if another place of worship were used.”
Kayadu Lohar said, ” This is a much more meaningful project for me compared to Dragon. Director Dijo approached me after watching my Malayalam film Pathonpatham Noottandu. After hearing the story, I felt this would be a special film in my career. I play a character named Rebecca, which is very different from anything I’ve done before. She is intelligent and not portrayed from a glamor perspective. My role has significant importance in the film.”
She added, ” I believe this movie will elevate my position as an actress. I appear in two different looks in the film. The director had complete clarity about how my character should appear. I usually perform confidently with any co-actor, but I felt a bit nervous acting alongside Tovino. His performance level is very high, and I learned a lot from him. Pallichattambi is a beautiful emotional film that the entire family can watch together.”
