After scoring a hit with Bhooth Bangla, Akshay Kumar is now working on a comedy entertainer directed by Anees Bazmee. After wrapping it up, he will begin filming for Kanishk Verma’s directorial, produced by Amrutlal Shah.

As per a report in Pinkvilla, the movie is being designed as a large-scale, VFX-heavy spectacle and aims to introduce a completely new ‘Man vs Alien’ genre to Indian cinema. The story will reportedly revolve around survival, action, and a common man finding himself trapped in an extraordinary situation.

The producer had earlier delivered solid hits with Akshay Kumar. Currently in the pre-production stage, the project is expected to go on floors from August 2026. Akshay is reportedly excited about the film, as it is unlike anything attempted before.

Karuppu, headlined by Suriya, had a fantastic second weekend at the box office. Yesterday’s collections are said to be higher than the opening day numbers, an indication of the film’s sensational run.

The action drama is now looking to surpass the Rs. 300 crore mark globally. With the Bakrid holiday falling this week, business is expected to get another boost, and the movie looks totally unstoppable. From getting trolled for having no hits in nearly a decade to delivering record-breaking numbers, Suriya has made a comeback for the ages.

Directed by RJ Balaji and produced by Dream Warrior Pictures, the film also stars Trisha Krishnan, RJ Balaji, Indrans, Natty Subramaniam, Swasika, Anagha Maaya, and others in key roles. Sai Abyankkar composed the music.
