After doing a small role in Vedam, Telugu girl Soumya Sukumar has turned into a full fledged heroine with Pora Pove. We caught up with her for a brief chit-chat. Let’s see what she has to say.
Q) Tell us something about your background ?
I am brought up in Chennai and as my dad was posted there in sales tax department and finished my studies there only.
Q) How did you get into movies ?
There was a casting call for Vedam, and I participated in it and got selected. I did a small role as Manoj’s friend in both Tamil and Telugu versions of the the film.
Q) How did you bag Pora Pove?
Vedam’s assistant cameraman Jaypal Reddy introduced me to Pora Pove’s director. Once I did my auditions, they were impressed and selected me as the female lead.
Q) Tell us about your role in the film ?
I am playing a very bubbly character in the film. I have a good role in the film, and my equation with the hero will be like that of Tom and Jerry.
Q) Do you have any dream roles ?
I would love to do roles like what Sridevi did in kshana kshanam and Genilia’s role in Bommarilu.
Q) Who are your favorite actors ?
I like Allu Arjun and Mahesh Babu a lot. In heroines I like Aishwarya Rai and Samantha.
Q) What are your future projects ?
Every thing depends on the success of this film. I have a few offers which are still in discussion stages.
