Dimple Hayati is the young actress who is making her debut with tomorrow’s release Gulf. We caught up with her for an exclusive interview. Here is the transcript.
How did you bag this film?
Right from my childhood, I was always interested in becoming an actress. The moment I was writing my inter-board exam, I got a call from Sunil sir and he asked me to audition for the role. I got selected right away and here I am promoting my film.
About your family background?
My parents are from business field and I have been brought up at my grandfather’s place in Hyderabad and have been quite eager to join films. My dream has finally come true.
How was it shooting in the Gulf countries?
We shot for over 15 days and toured all the Gulf countries. We saw the rich lifestyle of the Gulf people and also personally saw how our Indian people are suffering there. We met a lot of people who are working for petty salaries and spoke to them as to how they have left their families behind in search of work.
About your role in the film?
I play the role of Lakshmi who goes to the Gulf in search of a job. How I land up there, what kind of problems do I face and how I fall in love have been showcased quite well.
What are your expectations from this film?
I am very confident that this film will surely do well. I don’t want a glamorous image and everyone should appreciate my acting as I have given my heart and soul for this film.
Working with Sunil Kumar Reddy?
He is everything for me in the industry. I got selected for this film when I was 17. As only majors are allowed into the Gulf for work purposes, he waited for me to turn major and then took me there to shoot the film. The way he has showcased me has been quite impressive and I hope everyone likes my role.
