Interview : Chay Akkineni – Bangarraju will be a blockbuster hit

Bangarraju is up for a release this 14th. On this occasion, we caught up with Chay Akkineni for a detailed interview?

After Manam how was it working with your dad Nagarjuna?

While doing Manam, I only saw dad on the sets and did not get the vibe of the character he was playing. But now, as I have got experience, it was easy to work with dad and I learned a lot from him.

Your opinion when you heard the script?

I had so many doubts as it was my first sequel. I kept asking director Kalyan and dad until I was clear with the doubts. I had to get things clear in my head to play the role of China Bangarraju.

About your role in the film?

I play Bangaraju’s grandson who does a lot of mischief in the village. He also gets into problems and to help him out, Bangarraju once again comes down and adds more fun to the story.

Tell us about the songs in the film?

Songs play a vital role in the film. As it has a festive mood, songs come at regular intervals. That is also the reason, we have roped in several heroines for the songs. There is no logic for the songs.

About the shooting of the film?

This film was planned four years back but due to Covid and other issues, there were delays. But we all worked as a team and rushed things and are here with the magical release.

How will the ticket rate issue affect the fate of your film?

See, I am an actor and do not think about all these issues. But my dad made things clear that we had to budget the film as per the rates. So, if the rates are increased, it will be a bonus. But we have to mold things accordingly and make changes to save the film.

Working experience with the likes of Ramya Krishna and Krithi Shetty?

Krithi Shetty is a superb talent and will go a long way in her career. She has done a bubbly role and you will love our love and hate relationship in the film. About Ramya Krishna Garu, she has done a superb job and I thoroughly enjoyed a lot working with her.

Future projects?

As of now, I am nearing the shooting of my new film Thank You. Also, I have one more original web series with Amazon. It is a solid horror drama with Vikram Kumar. Finally, there is also Lal Singh Chanda with Aamir.
