Interview : Chiranjeevi – Waltair Veerayya would be a feast for fans

Megastar Chiranjeevi starrer Waltair Veerayya is up for a grand theatrical release this Saturday across the globe. On this occasion, we met with the star actor for a brief interview and here is the transcript.

Did you feel the vintage vibes while playing Waltair Veerayya?

I love to do all kinds of movies including commercial movies for fans and other movies to satisfy myself. Coming to Waltair Veerayya, the entire credit goes to director Bobby for bringing back the vintage vibes and I enjoyed it doing for my fans and it would be a feast for them. You can see the vintage Chiranjeevi you had seen Gharana Mogudu, Mutamestri, Annayya, and others.

Your experience while working with Ravi Teja

Ravi Teja is always the same person for me all these years. He is energetic, decent and committed as always. We roped in Ravi Teja as we believed that he can enhance the character and he nailed it. It’s a great experience to working with him again in Waltair Veerayya.

Working experience with producers

Producers Naveen Yerneni and Ravi Shankar are so passionate about filmmaking and they are one of the best producers I have ever come across. I always tell them to take care of the budget. To note, we shot only 10 minutes of extra footage and we all are very careful about the production cost.

Tell us about director Bobby

He is one of the most talented young directors in our industry and though he is a big fan of mine, I like him as a director for the way he made the film. I need to appreciate him for his commitment towards the movie even in his hard times.

Tell us about Shruti Haasan

She is the daughter of my friend Kamal Haasan. She is amazing and played a decent character in the film. She danced even though she felt uncomfortable while shooting in snow places. She also did a small fight in the movie. I also like to work with her again.

Any plans to do sequels to your previous movies?

If anyone comes up with an interesting developments I will definitely do it. To say, we also thought to do a prequel to Godfather and we need to see whether someone come up with the plan or not.

Your opinion on remaking other movies in this OTT era?

I think that people always like to see their favourite actor in a particular hit movie and we are remaking such films as per our nativity and that’s why Godfather became a super hit in Telugu.

Tell us about Devi Sri Prasad

He is as energetic as Ravi Teja. He worked hard for this movie and give the best tunes and you are seeing how people are enjoying them.

Future projects?

Currently, I am doing Bholaa Shankar, directed by Meher Ramesh. I will announce the details of my next projects very soon.
