Kajal Aggarwal is back with her new film Kavacham which hits the screens this 7th of December. On this occasion, we caught up with her for a detailed interview.
What made you accept Kavacham?
I feel that to be in the game for a longer time, one has to keep doing commercial films. I have done this film for various reasons and one of them was because of my role which is very key to the film.
Working with Bellamkonda Srinivas?
He is a sweetheart and has worked very hard in his career. Sai doesn’t like using his father’s name and is always trying to learn new things. He wants to prove on his own and I like that about him very much.
Off late you are working with younger heroes. Is that a conscious decision?
In a way yes. Now, I am in that stage of my career where I feel safe and want to do something really different. As all the younger heroes are doing different stuff, I am lucky that I am being offered films with them. I would love to explore new avenues and one can say that it is my 2.0 version in Tollywood.
How do you look at your career now?
I want to break from my comfort zone and try out different things. So, next year, you will see me in different kind of films. Even though I have been here for a long time, I get very nervous before every Friday as the fear of losing out is still there and that keeps me going.
Sum up 2018 for us?
I had a mixed year. Not many know that I was very sick for over three months and was advised bed rest. I wanted to slow down but destiny had different plans and this year got even busier with films like Queen remake and Kavacham.
About queen remake?
I had a good time working on that project and as I am doing the Tamil version, the set up is very local and will only relate to the Tamil audience. The film will release in February.
Tell us about Indian 2?
The only thing I can say as of now is that I am dying to work with Shankar and Kamal Haasan. As I am not allowed to speak much, I will reveal all the details at a later stage.
About working again with Teja?
That is one film which I am super excited about. I have the best role in the film and it is very challenging. I am super excited to shoot for that film and you will see Kajal the actress in that film.
When are you going to tie the knot?
Laughs. Seeing the likes of Deepika and Priyanka getting married, even I wanted to tie the knot but I feel that I am at the peak of my career and feel that marriage can wait as of now.
