Producer Lagadapati Sridhar, who entered Tollywood with the comedy entertainer ‘Evadigola Vadidhe’, later went on to make films like ‘Style’, ‘Viyyala Vari Kayyalu’, ‘Snehageetham’ and ‘Potugadu’. Currently, he is producing the Telugu version of Suriya’s most anticipated film ‘Anjaan’ which is remade in Telugu as ‘Sikandar’. This film is slated to release on August 15 and on this occasion we have caught e up with Sridhar for a detailed interview. Let’s see what he has to see.
Q) Why you have shown interest on a dubbing film for the first time in your 10 year film career?
A) I have a close rapport with director Linguswamy, and also due to Suriya’s craze, I have decided to dub this film in Telugu. A project like this with top technicians can’t be made in Telugu and I feel it’s my luck to bring this film to Telugu audience.
Q) How is this film going to be ?
A) ‘Sikandar’ is a Mumbai backdrop, underworld movie. This film depicts revenge drama just like ‘Gajini’ and ‘Basha’. Suriya will be highly acclaimed in ‘Sikandhar’ like Rajinikanth was for ‘Basha’.
Q) Is Suriya doing a dual role in this film ?
A) ‘Sikandhar’s role will be daring and dashing in the film. Suriya has given a mesmerizing performance which will entertain the audience in all aspects. He is not doing a dual role, but he will be seen in two different characters like in ‘Gajini’.
Q) Tell us something about director Linguswamy and heroine Samantha ?
A) Almost every film of Linguswamy was dubbed or remade in Telugu. There will be a good action and emotions in his every film. Now a days, there is no big film without Samantha and even in this film, she is going to be seen in a glamorous role.
Q) What are the major highlights of this film?
A) Suriya is the major highlight of this film, which covers every aspect of entertainment. Usually, in every film there will be interval bang which will be highlight or else the climax. But in this film, introduction, interval and climax bangs, all have come out extraordinarily and this is the reason we have kept ‘Bang Bang Bang’ as the subtitle.
Q) Why you are making more of remakes, when you got hits with direct films?
A) I have very good Telugu stories, but they need good stars. All my previous films were also made without any stars and they became good hits. But few distributors lost their money, and that is the reason I want to make a commercial film with good stars. Very soon, I will make a film with original Telugu story.
Q) Can you reveal something about your next project ‘Krishnamma Kalipindhi Iddarini’?
A) ‘Krishnamma Kalipindi Iddarni’, is in its last stages and will be released during Dussera or Deepavali. Mahesh Babu is giving us good support for this film. Later, I am planning to remake ‘Potugadu’ and ‘Krishnamma Kalipindhi Iddarini’ in Tamil.
