Crazy director Maruthi, has become a brand in Tollywood with his kind of unique films. For the first time, he changed his route and came up with a clean entertainer in Kotta Janta. The film has completed its second week, and Maruthi caught up with the press to express his views. Let’s see what he has to say about the film and its success.

What kind of feedback are you getting for Kotta Janta ?

The movie has completed two weeks now, and I am surprised to see this kind of response for the film.

You mean to say that you never expected such a result form this movie ?

I was very clear in my mind, that this film would do really well mostly in urban areas. But after seeing the response from rural belts, I am extremely happy that my film is doing well even in areas which I did not expect.

Tell us about the business that this film is doing ?

After completion of two weeks, Kotta Janta has broke even. What ever it collects from now on, will be our profit.

Who was the inspiration for creating two selfish characters ?

Laughs ! By nature I am a selfish man, and took my self as the inspiration for creating these characters.

Did you feel any burden in relaunching Sirish as an actor ?

No ! I never felt like that. Even though he comes from mega family, it will help only for the first few days. Rest, it is up to him to pull the crowds to the theaters, which he has done successfully.

What was the best compliment your received for Kotta Janta ?

After watching the film, Charan was very happy with the project, and appreciated me whole heartedly.

What about your film with Nithin. When is it going to start ?

Firstly, I would like to clear that none of my films have been confirmed. I am still in the process of writing a story. Coming to Nithin’s film, I have just narrated a line to him and he responded well. Let’s see where it goes from here.

Why has your film with Venkatesh been postponed ?

As I was busy with Kotta Janta, Venkatesh Sir waited for four months. As the film was getting further delayed, I requested Venketesh sir to go ahead and start his Drishyam remake.

What happened to the Hindi remake of Prema Katha Chitram ?

It is in the pipeline, and I will direct the film myself. All the details of the star cast and production house will soon be revealed.
