Dialogue King Mohan Babu’s upcoming movie, Son of India, is all set for a grand release in theaters this Friday. On this occasion, we met with the phenomenal actor for a brief interview. Here is the transcript.

How did you get this offer?

When Diamond Ratna Babu narrated me this different story, I instantly connected to it. Just like my Guru Dasari Narayanarao garu, I also wanted to experiment with different kinds of roles and so accepted this film. Son of India has many elements that will be connected to youth.

Tell us about your character?

I am playing a different role in this movie. Everyone will praise me and my performance after watching this movie and everyone will enjoy Son of India.

Any objections from the censor board?

The censor board has cut a few scenes and muted a few others. There is also a kissing scene in this movie because the script demanded it.

Will you wield the megaphone?

I have finalized a couple of scripts for direction but I didn’t want to wield the megaphone anytime soon because I fear that I may hit the artists if they are not punctual.

Why is there a change in Son of India’s runtime?

Initially, we thought of releasing this movie on an OTT platform. So, we trimmed it according to that and then the runtime was 90 minutes. Later, we decided to release the movie in theaters only by making some changes to the movie and there is not much difference in the runtime.

Any plans to write your biography or to make a biopic?

I am writing a book based on my experiences in life and the title of the book is not yet decided. For now, I have no plans to make any biopic based on my life and if that happens I can’t tell who will act in it.

Future projects?

I have a few projects in my hand. One is with Manchu Vishnu and another is with my daughter Manchu Lakshmi. Another two projects are in my pipeline and I will announce them soon.
