The Akkineni family starrer Manam, has been the topic of discussion every where. Those who have seen the film cannot stop raving about it and Manam’s lead star, Naga Chaitanya has been getting huge appreciation for his role. We caught up with Chaitanya for a brief interview lets see what he has to say.
Q) Firstly, How are you enjoying Manam’s success ?
A) I am extremely happy with the response that our film is getting. I thank each and every one who have liked the film, and made it a memorable farewell for ANR.
Q) How did you prepare for your role as Radha Mohan ?
A) When Vikram narrated me my role, the thought itself was crazy. I was a bit apprehensive to play Nagarjuna’s dad in the film. But Vikram had clear idea about the role, and gave me huge confidence to do my character.
Q) How was it working with ANR and Nagarjuna ?
A) Initially, I was a bit apprehensive doing scenes with them. I was very worried how to break the ice, and did the first schedule with a lot of confusion. I always looked up them as role models, and here I needed to be careless and also had drinking scenes which was a bit tough initially. But by the end of the film, I was at ease with both of them.
Q) How was it working with the director Vikram Kumar ?
A) All the appreciation that I am getting today, is because of Vikram. He gave me full confidence, and asked me to go about the role in my own way. I just followed his directions and the result is for all to see.
Q) Once again your pairing with Samanta has worked. Your thoughts on this ?
A) Both of us started our careers at the same time, and have done more films together. So the more time we spent together, our chemistry has worked exceptionally well.
Q) You played two different characters in the film. Which one did you like doing the most ?
A) Obviously, the second character where I played a college going guy. I could relate to the character well, and found it very easy to portray.
Q) Your acting skills have vastly improved with this film. Did you take any special care ?
A) Maybe the experience is getting to me. As I am doing more films one after the other, my confidence levels, and ease in front of the camera is also growing.
Q) What do you have to say about Anup Ruben’s hit musical score ?
A) Anup’s music is also one of the reason for the film’s success. He created some soulful music for this film, and especially it was his re-recoding that took the second half to another level.
Q) What do you have to say about Akhil’s stunning entry ?
A) His entry was the icing on the cake, and took the climax to another level. I remember telling Akhil that he would never get such a huge launch pad to make his debut. It was Vikram’s idea to have Akhil, and the way his entry has been added was out of the world.
Q) When is Auto Nagar Surya releasing ?
A) Frankly speaking, I do not have much say about the release. Even I want it to hit the screens as soon as possible, and I promise you that whenever that film releases, it would definitely be a hit.
Q) With your next film Oka Liala Kosam, you are also foreseeing the production formalities. Was it a conscious decision ?
It was dads plan, as he told me to learn the finer things of production. I would love to produce films in the future, and would make them in our own banner.
