DJ Tillu is ready for a release soon. On this occasion, we caught up with heroine Neha Shetty for a brief chat. Here is the transcript.
About the controversy at the DJ Tillu event?
What happened was unfortunate and we as actors have to take it with a pinch of salt and move on. I don’t want to comment about it now and let’s focus more on the film than the controversy?
Response to the trailer?
The response to the trailer has been quite amazing. The Telangana slang, Siddhu’s role, our chemistry, and comedy have won many hearts and will do so when the film releases.
What kind of film is DJ Tillu?
Everyone thinks the film is only a comedy caper. There is a lot of romance, thrills, and emotions in the film. The theme is modern and the local setup gives the film an authentic feel for the masses.
Your role in the film?
I play a modern girl who cheats a few. Why she does that and what made her do it is the basic setup. As far as my role is concerned, I played it according to the suggestions given by my director.
Your impression of Siddhu Jonnalagadda’s performance?
He is going to be a major plus to the film. The masses will love his slang and the scenes between him and me will be a major highlight. Through the filming, Siddhu helped me a lot.
Will your film work in such crunch Covid time?
This third wave is not that dangerous. But one needs to be careful. We have already gone through so much and trust me, DJ Tillu will be a laugh riot at the box office.
About your career in Tollywood?
I started with Mehbooba and did Gully Rowdy. The response to my films has been good and I am getting good roles. Very soon, I will be announcing a few interesting projects.
