Dhruva is one film which will be closely watched all over. Ram Charan needs this film to be a huge hit to get back in the game. On the eve of the film’s release, we caught up with him for a detailed interview. Let’s see what he has to say.

Are you tensed about Dhruva’s release ?

Yes ! very much. I am always tensed before all my releases. But this time, I am a bit confident also as we have a strong content oriented film with a good subject.

Did you choose a remake because it was a safe bet after Bruce Lee ?

Nothing like that. After watching Thani Oruvan, I liked the film immensely and thought it would be the right thing to do as a comeback. And mind you, there is nothing wrong in remaking a film.

Surender Reddy recently said that he will never attempt a remake ?

Laughs ! Did he say that ? Jokes aside, Yes remakes are very difficult to handle. Suri has done a fabulous job with this film and has worked hard to get the correct output.

Did you feel Dhruva as a change of image film for you ?

Yes ! I wanted to break the monotony and tried something new. I hope that everyone likes this film which is quite different from the regular commercial films.

Were you intimidated by Aravind Swamy’s presence in the film ?

Yes ! Initially, I was a bit scared as to how I would go about acting in front of such a powerful actor. But as time passed by, Aravind became a very close friend and this was transformed into a very good chemistry on the screen.

Why did you pick Surender Reddy ?

I was supposed to do a direct film with him initially. But later, I forced him to do this remake. He has done a superb job with the film and the way he has made slight changes have worked wonderfully for us.

How difficult is it to produce a film with a star like Chiranjeevi ?

It is a huge responsibility and I am learning the hard way. Anyways, Vinayak is there behind me and he is doing a superb job and taking care of everything.

What kind of films do you want to do in the future ?

I am open to all genres and am game for doing interesting films like Dhruva.

What’s next ?

Will start shooting for Sukumar’s next post Sankranthi which will be a complete contrast to Dhruva.
