Star heroine, Samantha is busy promoting her new film Oh Baby which is all set to hit the screens tomorrow. On this occasion, we caught up with Samantha for a detailed interview. Here is the transcript.

Do you feel an extra responsibility about Oh Baby?

Yes, I want the film to be watched by as many people as possible. That is the reason, I have taken the responsibility and am promoting it as much as I can. The film has come out extremely well and I am eagerly looking forward to the reactions of the audience.

Looks like you have turned quite religious these days?

I have always been like that and used to go to Tirupathi whenever Chay’s films were ready for release. But now, Oh Baby is resting on my shoulders and that is the reason I want all the divine help to make the film a big hit.

Oh Baby is releasing like a star hero film. How do you feel?

I know I am famous but have to achieve a lot. For star heroes, the fans automatically come to the theaters. But that is not the case for me and that is the reason I am promoting the film on a huge scale so that more audience could come to watch my film.

How was it doing comedy for the first time?

I feel that evoking comedy is the most difficult job in acting. One gets completely drained by the end of the day and I found out how difficult it is only when I acted in Oh Baby. The film has a mix of emotions, comedy, drama and I feel it will touch everyone’s heart in a big way.

How was it acting like a 60-year-old lady?

I was never brought up with grandparents or old people. So, I went to some old age homes and interacted with a few elders there. I observed their body language and found out that they are childlike inside. I did my best in an elderly role and need to see how the audience reacts to it.

How was it working in an all women’s team?

Starting from Nandini, several women worked in the film. Nandini is a pure heart and has not changed over the years. She has given her heart and soul to the film and her work will be appreciated a lot post the film’s release.

Any future plans to get into direction?

I have no direction plans but will surely produce films in the later stage of my career. I want to encourage new talent especially women in the industry.

How do you react to all the pregnancy rumors which are going on all over?

I don’t react. There is nothing wrong in those rumors as I too keep asking my friends about their plans of having kids. When the time comes, I will surely have kids and will not keep it as a secret.
