Talented director Sreenu Vaitla, who earlier gave several superhit comedy entertainers, is coming up with yet another youthful family entertainer titled Mister. The movie is slated for a grand release on April 14th. On this occasion, we had a small chitchat with Sreenu. Here is the transcript.
Q) Tell us briefly about how this project materialized?
A) It’s a travel film. I was thinking of doing a travel film that has have scope for emotions and entertainment with grand visuals. In that process, writer Gopimohan came up with this storyline and we developed it into a full-fledged commercial film and decided to rope in Varun as the hero.
Q) Which locations did you shoot the film at?
A) Generally, if we go for a foreign schedule, we try to shoot the maximum part in one city. But for this film, we shot in eleven different cities in Spain. Later, we went to Switzerland. In India, we shot in various places like Mangalore, Ooty, and Kerala. We didn’t shoot a single day in Hyderabad.
Q) Tell us about Varun’s performance in this film?
A) I know him very well since his childhood. I promised his father Naga Babu garu that one day I will definitely do a film with Varun. Varun’s performance in his first film Mukunda impressed me, but in this film, Varun’s character has scope to perform all emotions. I’m happy with his performance.
Q) Can we expect anything new from you with this film?
A) Definitely. It will be a new film from me. It’s a fresh love story which I haven’t done till date. I disappointed the audience with my previous movies, but in this film, I assure that you can see a healthy and quality comedy.
Q) Tell us about the heroines in the film?
A) Lavanya and Hebah Patel acted as the heroines in the film. Hebah’s role was designed with a class touch. She performance very well. In the same way, Lavanya too will impress as Chandramuki.
Q) Tell us about Mickey J Mayer’s music?
A) Initially, I had a doubt on him that how will he compose music for the film, but he gave a very good music album with all songs of all variety.
Q) Can we see any special characters in this film?
A) Yes, you can see more characters than in Ready. Comic characters in Mister will impress the audience big-time with their comedy timing.
Q) Chiranjeevi spoke very high about you in the pre-release event. How did you feel about it?
A) It’s really a great gesture by Chiranjeevi garu. After the film’s release, I will personally meet him and thank him.
Q) What is Mister actually about?
A) Usually, we see only one story in triangle love stories, but in this film, we can see three different stories running parallelly. We tried to connect three stories with comedy as one of the major layers. I’m confident that Ready’s result will be repeated with Mister.
Q) Are you having any plans to produce films in the near feature?
A) Definitely, I will produce films. I may collaborate with other production houses or produce them solely on my banner.
