Sumanth’s upcoming romantic drama, Malli Raava is releasing on December 8th. On this occasion, we caught up with him for a brief interview. Here is the script.
Q) What is Malli Raava all about?
A) It’s a cute romantic drama between Karthik and Anjali which happens in three different time zones. Though the storyline of the film is simple it is narrated with an interesting screenplay.
Q) How different is it from your previous films?
A) Yeah, it’s a bit different when compared to my previous films. In one word, the film has a close identification with my film Godavari.
Q) Tell us about your role in the film?
A) I’m playing as a corporate employee. My character is showcased more like an underdog or something like underachiever but on a lighter vein.
Q) How did this film roll on?
A) The actual travel has begun almost a year back. When our director Gowtam met, I had zero expectations on him but once the narration finished, I literally had tears in my eyes. Later, we did ten months pre-production and wrapped up the film in hardly thirty-five days.
Q) Tell us about your director Gowtam Tinnanuri?
A) He is very hardworking and focused person. The groundwork he did for this film is just amazing. I’m very happy with his work and film’s output.
Q) Are you disappointed with your last film Naruda DONORuda’s result?
A) Yeah, I expected that the film will give a new experience for our Telugu audience but unfortunately it did not perform well. Demonetisation also affected the film to an extent.
Q) Your next projects?
A) As of now, I’m doing a dark thriller with a debut director Anil Srikandam. After that, I have signed two other films which I will let you know soon.
