Tamil Super Star Suriya’s forthcoming thriller, Gang, is scheduled for a January 12th release. On this occasion, we caught up with Suriya for a brief interview during his recent promotional tour to Hyderabad. Here is the transcript.
Q) Tell us about Gang?
A) This is completely a different kind of film for me. After a long time, I felt like doing a new genre movie.
Q) What is Gang all about?
A) The film deals with a true robbery incident. We developed the entire story by taking it as the main plot and narrated it in an entertaining manner. We have also discussed a few major burning issues.
Q) What aspect of the film made you accept Gang?
A) Director Vignesh Shivan’s way of narration and his intelligent screenplay impressed me a lot. I’m confident that his new-age filmmaking skills will impress the audience.
Q) How was it working with seniors like Karthik and Ramya Krishna?
A) It was a great experience. I thoroughly enjoyed their company and learned a lot from them. Apart from them, I feel blessed to have worked with legendary comedian Senthil sir.
Q) For the first time, you dubbed for your role in Telugu. Tell us about it?
A) I like Telugu language very much and dubbing in Telugu is an incredible experience. I took time and tried my best to sound right.
Q) What do you think are the major highlights of Gang?
A) Firstly, Vignesh’s taking and narration will be in a totally new style. Apart from that, Anirudh’s music and background score are also going to be the highlight of the film.
Q) What are your next projects?
A) As of now, I’m committed to doing a film with Selvaraghavan. Rakul Preet and Sai Pallavi are finalized as the female leads. After that, I shall work with KV Anand.
