Varanasi is SS Rajamouli’s next mega movie in the making, featuring Superstar Mahesh Babu in the lead role. Joining the cast are Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran, playing the characters Mandakini and Kumbha, respectively. The makers have officially locked April 7, 2027, as the release date, marking exactly one year from today.

The production team announced the one-year countdown with the message, “If we’re time-trotting to a year, it’s Showtime.” This update has ignited significant hype among fans. The excitement increased further when Oscar-winning composer MM Keeravaani posted “365” to reference the days remaining until Varanasi hits the screens. Producer SS Karthikeya joined the interaction with a playful banter, asking when the first song would be delivered, which has given fans hope for an upcoming musical reveal.

Adding to the lighthearted exchange, the official X handle of the movie posted, “Set vesthunnaaarantagaaa…. Director Happy aaaa..” This interaction has created a wave of happiness among the audience, leading to speculation that a major update is imminent, though it is likely that significant promotional material will not be released immediately.

The movie is being produced by KL Narayana under the Sri Durga Arts banner. R. Madhavan is reportedly set to appear as Lord Hanuman, with Prakash Raj cast in another crucial role. The budget for this globe-trotting epic is estimated to exceed Rs. 1300 crore. Shooting is currently progressing in Hyderabad, with further details expected to be revealed at an opportune time.
