50 years of Alluri Seetarama Raju – Mahesh Babu recalls his father’s classic

Superstar Krishna Garu has revolutionized Telugu cinema by introducing different technologies. Alluri Seetarama Raju is Krishna’s 100th film, and the legendary actor played the Indian revolutionary Alluri Seetarama Raju, known for his role in the Manyam Rebellion. The film, directed by V. Ramachandra Rao, was a commercial blockbuster, and Krishna was lauded for his stunning portrayal of the freedom fighter.

By today, the film has completed 50 glorious years, and Mahesh Babu recalled his father’s classic on this special occasion. Mahesh took to his Twitter and wrote, “#50YearsOfAlluriSeetaramaRaju… Still recall watching it for the first time and being awestruck by Nanna garu’s majestic presence on screen. As the film completes 50 years today, I’m reminded of its profound influence on my journey as an actor and on Telugu cinema.”

Alluri Seetarama Raju was the first cinemascope film in Telugu. G. Hanumanth Rao produced the film under Padmalaya Studios. Vijaya Nirmala played the female lead. Jaggayya, Rajanala, Chandra Mohan, Sridhar, and Kanta Rao essayed vital roles.
