Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon will be seen playing goddess Sita’s role in Prabhas’ highly-anticipated pan-Indian mythological epic, Adipurush. In a latest interview with a popular news agency, Kriti said that the entire team is extremely proud of Adipurush and hoped that audiences will also equally be proud of the movie.
Kriti went on to say that she did not get to see Ramanand Sagar’s superhit Doordarshan series ‘Ramayan’ in her childhood and hoped the film appeals to the younger generation. “It is important to make these stories. It is educational for kids. I feel visual memory is way stronger than anything else. The best way to make kids know this story is to have it imprinted in their minds, it is important to watch it,” said the svelte beauty.
Adipurush’s teaser was released last year and it received a severe backlash from fans for its unexpectedly poor visual effects. However, young audiences seemed to have enjoyed the teaser. And Kriti added, “if you are getting it out now after so many years, that same story (of Ramayan) also needs to relate to the audience it is catering to.”
Adipurush, also starring Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan in the role of the Demon King Ravan, is directed by Om Raut. The film is slated for a huge release worldwide on June 16.
