Aditi Rao Hydari is on a roll these days. While she’s busy juggling between Telugu and Tamil film industries, she is doing quite well in Bollywood too. Earlier this year, she impressed quite a few with her role in Padmavat, and she’ll next be seen in Daas Dev, an adaptation of Devdas.
The latest news is that Aditi has signed a biopic which will focus on the life of writer-and-director Sudhir Mishra’s wife, Renu Saluja. Back in the 80s and 90s, Renu was one of the most renowned editors in the country, and she was in a relationship with Vidhu Vinod Chopra, before she got married to Sudhir Mishra. The film will focus on Sudhir’s relationship with her while she was battling with cancer before she passed away in 2000.
Talking about the film, Sudhir Mishra, who’ll be directing the film, said, “Towards the end of her life, she started rejecting me and I had to stand by her, no matter what. Those were trying times as she was going through a lot after being diagnosed with cancer. She began introspecting, reexamining her own life as one tends to do towards the end. My film is predominantly about that — from her point of view and in context to our relationship during that period.” And when asked why he chose to cast Aditi Rao Hydari in this film, he said, “I like Aditi as an actor. She lends that soft sensitivity to a character.”
