The trailer of Anand Deverakonda and Vaishnavi Chaitanya’s Epic triggered mixed reactions from netizens. Some called out the sexual themes, and the reactions indeed took the team by surprise.
At the pre-release event, director Aditya Haasan expressed how he felt after the trailer launch. He said, “After the trailer came out, I met with a sudden shock. I am not used to this. Now I understand how great Sandeep Reddy Vanga garu is. The trailer backlash itself made me somewhat disturbed. When I made #90’s, everyone praised me. The same happened with the Premalu Telugu dialogues. There has been no such negative thing in my career so far.”
“I thought my life changed upside down with one trailer. But I am happy, as reviewers gave me the benefit of the doubt that Aditya Haasan won’t go wrong. They have placed their trust in me, and hopefully, the film satisfies them. I am definitely hoping that Epic makes sense to so many people. I am doing films to spread positivity and hope,” concluded Aditya Haasan.
