Epic, starring Anand Deverakonda and Vaishnavi Chaitanya, has opened to mixed reactions from audiences. While many have appreciated the film for attempting something bold and different, the lack of a strong cinematic narrative has emerged as a major criticism.

Interestingly, director Aditya Haasan, who impressed viewers with the web series #90s, is also facing criticism because of the expectations created by his earlier work.

Several social media users feel that the #90s image has become baggage for Epic. According to some viewers, the film could have worked much better if it had been presented as a straightforward adult drama without carrying the expectations of #90s.

The bold attempt has received appreciation, but the execution remains a talking point. One needs to see how much the film will make in the days to come.
