After going through a rough patch and being written off by many, Malayalam star actor Nivin Pauly made a terrific comeback with Sarvam Maya, a horror-comedy fantasy entertainer that went on to earn Rs. 150 crores worldwide.
However, the problems have resurfaced for Nivin Pauly, as he has now delivered two consecutive disasters after Sarvam Maya. His last film, Baby Girl, couldn’t leave any mark at the box office, while his latest release, Prathichaya, opened to dismal numbers and below-par reports. There was absolutely zero hype for Prathichaya from the start, and the lack of positive reviews is further affecting its prospects.
The political thriller earned a meagre Rs. 1.6 crores gross in Kerala in its first two days. Meanwhile, Aadu 3 and Dhurandhar: The Revenge are dominating the Kerala box office this weekend, leaving Prathichaya struggling to find its footing.
