Recently, the audio album of star hero Allu Arjun’s Sankranthi blockbuster, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, created a massive record by clocking over 1 billion hits on YouTube. AVPL is the first and fastest ever South Indian film to achieve such a massive feat. Thaman is the composer of AVPL’s audio album.
Now, acclaimed Tamil star Dhanush’s 2018 action entertainer, Maari 2, became the first ever Tamil film and the second South Indian film to have its audio album clock over 1 billion hits on YouTube. In a humongous feat, Maari 2’s chartbuster dance number, Rowdy Baby, has registered over 846 million views on YouTube, which is a record even AVPL’s songs will take a long time to match. Yuvan Shankar Raja is the music composer of Maari 2.
