Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has been in news for the past few weeks for all sorts of reasons. The Besharam Rang romantic song from his soon-to-release patriotic action drama, Pathaan, has been receiving a severe backlash from Hindu religious heads. The controversial song features the film’s leading lady Deepika Padukone in a saffron bikini, and this has hurt the religious sentiments of a section of Hindus and political leaders across the North.

Around a month ago, Girish Gautam, senior BJP leader and Speaker of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly, had said that the Besharam Rang song is vulgar. The Speaker went on to challenge Shah Rukh to watch the movie with his daughter, upload a picture and tell the world that he is watching it with his daughter.

And Shah Rukh did watch Pathaan along with his daughter Suhana Khan, wife Gauri Khan and son Aryan Khan in a special screening in Mumbai yesterday. Paathan, also featuring John Abraham in a negative role, is directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Aditya Chopra. The film is gearing up for a grand worldwide release on January 25 amid an unprecedented buzz.
