The recent small-budget Tamil film Tourist Family, headlined by Sasikumar, has set the box office on fire with its remarkable collections. The film earned over Rs. 55 crores from Tamil Nadu, which is a solid feat. Now, another small film has put up a great show at the ticket windows.
The movie in discussion is Soori’s Maaman. The family drama was released alongside Santhanam’s Devil’s Double Next Level. The latter had more buzz initially and took the lead over the former in the openings. However, Maaman completely dominated the Santhanam starrer in the long run.
Maaman has till now collected over Rs. 40 crores gross in Tamil Nadu, making it the fourth Rs. 40 crore grosser for the actor after Viduthalai 1, Garudan, and Viduthalai 2 in the state. Soori is cementing his position in Kollywood as a bankable hero, and Maaman is a good example to it. Aishwarya Lekshmi played the female lead. Hesham Abdul Wahab composed the tunes.
