Young Mega hero Varun Tej tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend and popular actress Lavanya Tripathi in Tuscany, Italy on November 1. The newlyweds returned to Hyderabad in the first week of November and hosted a huge reception for the film industry well-wishers.

Now, after enjoying a blissful first few weeks of married life, work beckons Varun Tej. He is back to the grind and is busy prepping for his much-awaited period action drama, Matka. Apparently, Varun will be sporting a lean and mean look in Matka, and he has been working out for the past 6 months to achieve the desired look.

Matka will feature as many as 9 action episodes, the highest for a Varun Tej-starrer. These action sequences will be supervised by 4 stunt choreographers. The film is set in the Vizag backdrop between 1958-1985 time period. The makers are currently constructing a huge set replicating Vizag’s Old City (One Town area) on the Hyderabad outskirts.

Matka features the happening young beauty Meenakshi Chaudhary as the leading lady. The film is being directed by Palasa 1978 fame Karuna Kumar and produced by Mohan Cherukuri (CVM) and Dr. Vijender Reddy Teegala on Vyra Entertainments banner. GV Prakash Kumar is the music composer. The shooting will kick-start in the first week of December.
