Nandamuri Balakrishna’s recent outing, Akhanda 2, which was released amidst solid hype, couldn’t meet expectations. The action drama directed by Boyapati Sreenu is the sequel to the 2021 blockbuster Akhanda. After getting postponed from December 5 to December 12, Akhanda 2 opened to mixed reviews from critics.
However, this Balakrishna starrer took a very good opening, with the paid premiere shows reporting solid occupancies. The film also registered good collections over the first weekend, but after that, it slowed down both in domestic and international markets since word of mouth wasn’t encouraging. Akhanda 2 till now has earned a distributor share of Rs. 15.5 crores (excluding GST) in the Nizam region.
Compared to other regions, Akhanda 2 fared relatively well in Nizam, but the film was expected to rake in even more given the sequel factor and Balayya’s good form. Aadi Pinishetty, Samyukta, and Harshaali Malhotra played key roles in this flick produced by 14 Reels. SS Thaman is the music composer.
